Founded in 1994 on the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) campus in Shimla, this is the only dental college in Himachal Pradesh that is run by the government. It is affiliated with the Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU) and is recognized by the Dental Council of India. It offers 60 BDS seats along with MDS courses in various disciplines. It provides subsidized dental education to state quota students, with fees ranging from approximately ₹40,000 to ₹45,000 annually. This is the most sought-after dental college in the HP NEET counselling process. Admission is via AMRU counselling, with 15% seats reserved for the All India quota in the MCC counselling process.
